The End Hunger Network is a community-based organization that works collaboratively with food pantries, soup kitchens and residential shelters to strengthen hunger-relief programs. Founded in 1985, the End Hunger Network has distributed 33 million pounds of perishable and non-perishable food to 115 charities that feed Houston's hungry.

The Houston Food Bank is a private, nonprofit organization that feeds the hungry by seeking food donations and distributing them to local charitable programs that care for the needy. The Food Bank distributes 27 million pounds of food annually, helping 200,000 people each month in through 400 hunger-relief programs in an 18-county service area. Houston-relief programs include pantries in churches and community centers, shelters for the homeless, safe havens for the battered and abused, and nutrition programs for children and the elderly.
